A hotel package may combine rooms, transfers and reservations. When selling, it is a commodity, but when fulfilling the contract, multiple types of resources must be coordinated. The order needs to retain the component items and their respective usage status in order to handle partial usage and cancellation.
Product Scope
Packages may include accommodation, meals or reservation services, and the displayed content should be distinguished from the actual resources required. The product name is just the entrance to marketing, and the backend still needs to manage the component items and applicable conditions.
Effective conditions
Date range, number of people, room type and inventory limit need to be defined separately. The system should be able to explain why a package is optional or not, preventing staff from constantly modifying prices or inventory in order to correct the results.
Performance Tracking
Whether the services in the package have been used should be associated with the order. Modifying the package content cannot change the historical description of the confirmed order. First agree on the processing method of replacement and cancellation, and then design the relevant operation entrance.
Scenario verification
For example, the accommodation package comes with a reservation service. After the order is confirmed, the room and service resources need to be processed separately. Showing that the package has been sold does not mean that each service has been used, and the performance status should be recorded accordingly.
Specific verification method
Check accommodation and reservation resources separately when confirming the package; check that other items remain correct after using the service once; cancel unused items and check whether the fee adjustment is associated with the item; repeated write-off requests shall not count the same service as used twice.
The package layer describes the sales mix, and the project layer describes the specific performance. Resources, usage records and expenses can be returned to the corresponding projects, so staff can handle changes in a certain part without accidentally changing the entire order.
