A live broadcast may be hosted by several people who introduce, demonstrate and answer questions in turn. The transfer of permissions is unclear, and it is easy for no one to control the screen or for multiple people to switch content at the same time.

First clarify the problems and conditions

Set the roles of main host, assistant host and auditor, list the handover nodes and confirmation methods; backup personnel obtain necessary permissions in advance, and management permissions do not share accounts at will.

Put the rules into the actual process

For example, after the demonstration, the host confirms that the screen has been taken back, and then starts answering questions; the backup personnel only enable control when there is an abnormality, and do not operate the push stream at the same time because they are ready for backup.

Check with specific scenarios

Drill the main host offline, assistant personnel take over and the original host recovery, confirm the screen and interaction status; the activity log should be able to explain what switches have occurred to facilitate the review preparation process.

Check the processing results one by one

  • The screen source, current agenda, unanswered questions and next material can be confirmed together during the host handover.
  • When multiple people are hosting, each person uses their personal account and corresponding permissions, so that the actual operation can be found in case of failure.
  • The backup personnel must first confirm the host status before entering to avoid both parties from seizing control.
  • The platform should prompt the current controller and provide clear takeover confirmation when necessary, instead of inferring authority based on whether the button can be clicked.
  • Who will continue to host after resumption can be agreed before the broadcast starts.
  • Event recording should also observe whether there is any interruption during the handover and whether the sound and picture are synchronized.
  • The final review records which aspects need to be simplified so that the next time the host can operate according to the list without relying on someone’s on-the-spot memory.

How to review before and after going online

Handover drills can allow backup personnel to independently follow instructions and verify whether the list is truly usable. Hidden steps that can only be discovered on site should be added in a timely manner. It cannot be assumed that a skilled host can always provide verbal guidance.
