The tag name may seem simple, but there may be different definitions behind active, lead, or high value. If the label is not updated for a long time, business personnel will easily regard the past status as the current situation.

Difficulties in actual use

Each label is bound to rules, sources, refresh frequency and validity period, and distinguishes factual labels from inferred labels; only uses authorized business data and does not expand the scope of data use.

How to arrange functions and responsibilities

For example, the recent consultation on a product is a record of facts, while the high purchase intention is a business judgment. The two should be stored separately; the temporary label after the event needs an exit mechanism.

Scenario example

Test the entire process of tag update, invalidation and deletion, and check the filtering results using it. The label description must be understandable by operations personnel and cannot be just a piece of calculation code that is difficult to understand.

Check the processing results one by one

  • When tags are used for filtering or reaching, you should be able to see the latest update time and coverage.
  • Some sources are temporarily out of sync, so it is not appropriate to interpret missing data as a lack of certain behavior by customers.
  • After the rules are changed, the old tag and the new tag should have identifiable versions, so that business personnel can determine whether the list change comes from new behavior.
  • Temporary activity tags can be bound to the end time of the activity and will be archived after expiration, instead of appearing permanently in the selection box.
  • The person in charge of tags should also regularly check usage: tags that are not used by anyone and have duplicate meanings can be deactivated, and users will be notified first if they are still relied upon by reports.
  • It is often more helpful to ask which decisions you want to support before creating tags than to design a large number of categories at once.

Verification and continuous maintenance

Label needs to distinguish between calculation time and fact occurrence time. The long-term behavior label calculated yesterday does not mean that the user took the corresponding action yesterday. After users see these two times, it is easy for users to judge whether the list is suitable for the current activity.
