Successful barcode scanning only means that the code has been recognized, but it does not mean that the goods, quantities and batches are correct. Supplier labels may have missing fields or may use old packaging. The WMS receipt page should display the material information that needs to be confirmed, allowing differences to be processed instead of being recorded uniformly.

How to arrange records and operations

Maintain the mapping between supplier barcodes and internal materials, and retain the scope of application. After scanning, the order, specifications and units are verified, and the quantity and batch are confirmed individually. Unrecognized barcodes enter the waiting-for-matching state and are processed by authorized personnel to avoid arbitrary mapping on site and subsequent misreceipt.

The recognized barcode content can be displayed side by side with the order material information. If the specifications or packaging units are inconsistent, the differences are clearly marked. When an outer package contains multiple batches, the outer box code cannot be directly regarded as a single batch. The receiver can register the unpacking verification results, and the original code relationship will be retained when the label is replaced. Barcode mapping modifications only affect subsequent identification, and historical receipts still retain the current results. For materials without barcodes, establish confirmed manual registration steps to avoid randomly borrowing codes from other materials.

Specific scenarios that need to be checked

For example, a barcode represents a full box of packaging, and the purchase quantity is based on pieces. The test should check the conversion relationship. Repeated scanning can prompt the recorded content, and the actual additional amount requires clear operation. Attach a description of the receipt difference and associate it with the delivery note to facilitate subsequent verification between the purchaser and the warehouse.
