The hotel already has software that may maintain order, product and financial information separately. If the source of the primary data is not determined before integration, bidirectional synchronization can easily mistake the last write for the correct result and cause cyclic updates.
Existing capabilities
First list the cashier, reservation or financial systems that have been used, and clarify the business they are responsible for. Repeatedly building the same functions not only increases maintenance costs, but also creates the problem of two systems modifying the same data at the same time.
Data attribution
The main maintenance source should be determined for each type of data, and other systems should be synchronized in an agreed manner. Interface fields, update frequency, and conflict handling need to be explained, not just confirming that the two systems can be connected.
Acceptance Scenarios
Select order modification, refund, offline recovery and missing fields to test. Normal transmission is just the starting point. What really affects usage is whether abnormalities can be discovered, traced and recovered.
Scenario verification
The integration list can be classified according to orders, products, expenses and customer information, and each system can be confirmed to be responsible for maintenance. When encountering two sources that can be modified, define conflict handling first and do not leave the final result to the synchronization sequence decision.
Specific verification method
First check the field mapping and source system, then let both sides modify the same record at the same time and observe the conflict resolution; resume synchronization after interrupting the interface and check whether the order is repeated; cancel a source order and confirm that the associated resources and costs are updated in the agreed direction.
For each type of data, write down the maintenance source, readability and writability, and update direction, and then arrange the synchronization frequency. Interface exceptions can be located to specific business records, so maintenance personnel have a clear check entry.
