The warehouse move may seem like just changing a warehouse location, but only part of the quantity may be moved on site, or the goods may be placed in an adjacent location. Only the target location is updated, and the intermediate process will be lost. The WMS library transfer task should be able to track the steps from source extraction to target confirmation.

How to arrange records and operations

Tasks include materials, batches, quantities and storage locations at both ends. After picking up the goods, mark the quantity being moved according to the rules, and then scan the code to confirm when you arrive at the destination. Allow reallocation when the target is unfit for storage, and retain the reason. Tasks that are interrupted in the middle need to be connected to the entrance, and the same transportation requirements cannot be generated repeatedly.

The warehouse transfer record distinguishes the application location, actual source and actual target. When the suggested warehouse location cannot be used on site, a confirmed alternative location needs to be selected. If the goods are in transit after the mission starts, they should also be in queryable status and cannot be counted on both sides at the same time. Part of the move will be confirmed based on the actual quantity, and the remaining portion will remain pending. Target location capacity, material mix and special storage conditions are checked before confirmation. When the printed moving list expires, it is clearly marked to prevent people from moving again according to the expired position.

Specific scenarios that need to be checked

For example, if the entire pallet of goods is moved but the target remaining capacity is insufficient, the acceptance should check the split handling and remaining quantity. Test the network disconnection, target scanning error and task cancellation after picking up the goods to confirm that the inventory will not be available in two places at the same time. Operators can see the current stage of goods when handing over, which helps to find inventory that has not yet been returned.
