Inventory knows how much reagent is left, but it cannot answer which batch of reagent was used for a certain test. LIMS reagent and consumables management should connect purchase receipt, inventory status and actual use, which not only supports inventory but also provides a basis for subsequent traceability.
How to arrange records and operations
Record the product name, batch, unit, valid information and storage location, and form records of opening or preparation according to business needs. Acquisition of associated tasks or usage scope, reasons for return and scrap retention. The information of missing batches is entered for confirmation. You cannot fill in a general value at will to make the inventory table look complete.
Reagent files distinguish original batches, opening records and preparation records, and are associated with the actual objects used when used. The new records generated by preparation retain the raw material batches used and business confirmation parameters, and cannot just add a non-source name. Multiple uses are registered according to the actual quantity, and the difference between the remaining quantity and the inventory count is subject to verification. The storage location is adjusted to form a transfer record, and special conditions are checked according to confirmed rules. Sufficient inventory does not mean that it is suitable for the current task. The page displays the status and available range at the same time, and the responsible personnel must confirm the usage conditions.
Specific scenarios that need to be checked
For example, if a task uses different batches twice, whether the acceptance check can be recorded separately. Covers unit conversions, post-opening status and stock shortages. The expiry date rules are determined by the business, and the system is responsible for prompts and process restrictions. It does not automatically infer that the reagent can still be used for a certain detection method.
